Ja’Niyah is a senior from the Mansfield Senior High School Delegation. This is her second year attending the OHYG program. Ja’Niyah is President of the Senate for early conference and will also be part of the legislative chamber. As President of the Senate, she will ensure transparency and communication with delegates and their needs. Such as bills, committees, and legislation. Outside of YAG, she is involved in National Honor Society, OCC Leadership, Class Advisory, Gear Up, and varsity volleyball. In her free time she likes to read, create art, and spend time with friends/family. Ja’Niyah is very excited for this year’s conference and wishes the best of fun to all delegations!

Carroll High School

Robert (Bob) G. is representing the Carroll High School Delegation as the Early Conference Speaker of the House! His role as the Speaker of the House includes responsibilities such as running chamber procedures in the House and working with the President of the Senate to ensure all committee chairs can promote well-natured and powerful debate in their individual committees. His personal philosophy regarding the 2025 conference aims to let as many bills as possible be heard in the Chamber. He aims to do this with a variety of smaller optimizations and changes in procedure to ensure no time is wasted in the house on trivial procedures. Outside of OHYG, He is the technical director for his school’s drama productions, he runs cross country, and he is also working on a pre-collegiate research paper relating to fractals, entropy, and computer science! He hopes all delegates are as excited as the Presiding Officers are for this conference, and wishes all luck with bill-writing and presenting!

Secretary of State

Greta W.

Delaware Hayes High School

Greta W. is a senior from the Delaware Delegation and is the Secretary of State for the early conference. This is her third year participating in YG and has previously been a legislature of the Senate and Chief of Staff in the Governor’s Cabinet. As Secretary of State she will help in the election process for electing the presiding officers for YG 2025-2026. She will also be a working member of the governor’s cabinet. Her goals are to ensure every bill is equally heard in the governor’s cabinet and to have the election run efficiently. Outside of YG Greta is a member of the cross country and lacrosse teams. She is also in In the Know, National Honors Society, and Global Scholars. In her free time she loves to hike, bake, watch movies, and spend time with her friends. She is excited for her final year of YG and hopes that it is the best conference yet.

Chief Justice

Sydney R.

Mansfield High School

Sydney R. is a senior from the Mansfield Senior High School Delegation. She is excited to be this year’s early conference Chief Justice. This will be her fourth time attending a Youth in Government conference. In the past she has been a part of the legislative and judicial branches. Outside of Y&G Sydney is involved in leadership roles in her school’s Key Club, Skills USA, National Honors Society, and is her school’s senior Class President. She has also served as the girls varsity soccer team captain. In her free time she loves to hike, read, bike, have dance parties with her friends, and play card games with her family. As Chief Justice she will oversee the judicial branch, pull unconstitutional bills, and conduct trials of the unconstitutional bills. Her goals are to ensure all trials are fair, and all legislators have an equal opportunity to defend their bill and will be working with the Attorney General to ensure this.

Highland High School

Kathryn L. is a Senior from the Highland Delegation. She has been the head lobbyist for the last two years and was a lobbyist in her first year. She is looking forward to being part of the presiding officer team again. Outside of YAG, she has been the president of her school’s Business Professionals of America Program for the last 3 years. Qualifying for states the last two years, and Nationals last year. She is also a member of my school’s student council, PBIS, horticulture, varsity track, percussion ensemble, leadership club and theater. She also works at a camp for kids with serious illnesses as well as working on her family cow farm. She is so excited to see everyone at conference and wants everyone to always remember to just have fun!

Samuel Truster is a senior from the Delaware Delegation. Sam has been a part of the Youth & Government program for 3 years now, with being in the legislative branch and doing his second year of media being the Editor in Chief. Outside of Youth & Government, Sam participates in Talisman, his school newspaper. He also works out and has a job at a retirement home. Let’s make this year a new start for media at Youth & Government!

Cleveland School of Science and Medicine

Owen is a junior from the Cleveland School of Science and Medicine Delegation. He is the re-elected Attorney General for the late conference, and he is greatly looking forward to being a leader at the event! As a Presiding Officer, he will prioritize communication with students and guidance to future leaders. He believes it’s his duty to ensure an equitable and thought-provoking environment within the judicial branch. Outside of Youth and Government, he is interested in activities such as Mock Trial, Chess, and philosophy. He thanks his fellow delegates for their time and hopes to make this conference one to remember!

Head Lobbyist

Findlay High School

Ekeria is from the Findlay delegation. This is her second year in YG, and she is thrilled to be serving as the Head Lobbyist for the late conference. Last year, she participated as a lobbyist and was honored to represent Ohio at CONA 2024! She is attending Duke University as part of the Class of 2029, her favorite food is Indian cuisine, she has played the viola since 4th grade, and she has traveled to every continent except Antarctica. Ekeria is so excited for YG 2025 and can’t wait to meet everyone.
